ST. CATHERINE OF SIENA PARISH
220 Shelton Road, Trumbull, Connecticut 06611
This particular form of service to the Lord and to our parish
requires a friendly personality and a sincere desire to assist one’s fellow parishioners,
since Ushers are the “face” of the parish for people entering or exiting the church for Mass or other liturgical activities.
Ushers usually arrive ten to fifteen minutes before Mass to greet attendees and to facilitate seating.
During the Offertory of the Mass, Ushers “pass the basket” and accept the donations of the faithful –
sealing all monies in a tamper-proof bag, and depositing them securely,
in full compliance with the policies of the Diocese of Bridgeport.
At the conclusion of Mass, Ushers distribute the weekly bulletin as they bid parishioners farewell until the following week.
After Mass, Ushers check to be sure that the Church is ready for the next Mass.
Our parish welcomes all volunteers, and we are always open and in need of new members
for the uniquely important service of Ushers.
